Last couple of months were filled with lot of launch events and releases of new smartphone. There were both flagships and mid-range smartphones were launched on this period. Almost every top companies released their high-end flagship series. Among these smartphones some were fantastic and some were not too bad, but modest sort of thing.
Every smartphone was unique in some way. Lot of cool new prototypes have also been announced this year which can be seen in the upcoming smartphones.
Here’s the list of smartphones which were released this fall you choose the best flagship based on the performance and other features they have.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9:
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was the first smartphone to be released on this fall which was released on August 24th this year. After its release, many phones came out but still, this has earned a special grade among the smartphone enthusiasts. All its features a better and fast. As Samsung advertises it, it is definitely for power users. It has got almost everything to
$1000(67,800 INR) for the base variant itself. By the way it has also got the headphone jack, which is cool.
iPhone Xs and Xs Max:
The Apple released these latest iPhones on 12th September this year. The all new iPhone Xs and Xs Max are pretty solid devices with a powerful CPU. The cameras have been upgraded slightly which are comparatively better than the older iPhones. Apart from this there is no major upgrade than these except on the price.
The design is same with the big notch on it and the screen is little bigger on the Xs Max than the normal iPhone X. The one thing which make heads turn is the processor of this phone. The A12 Bionic chip is the first 7nm processor which is considered as the fastest in the world. If you have to find any one thing to upgrade to this smartphone, it can be the processor. The iPhone Xs and Xs Max is good but the price makes it less accessible.
The company also released an additional variant called iPhone XR with an LCD display with same A12 Bionic chip. Again this too is pretty expensive with less features.
LG V40 ThinQ:
This smartphone got a lot of attention for 5 camera setup. Yes, it has got 5 cameras on it. 3 on the back and 2 on the front. It has got almost every camera sensors on it like autofocus, depth sensing, wide angle etc. No telephoto BTW. This too has a Snapdragon 845 processor on it as every other flagship does. Apart from the camera, there are no cool new features like the 6liquid cooling system and stuff. It is a normal flagship smartphone with a good camera on it.
Google PIxel 3 and Pixel 3 XL:
Google’s Pixel smartphones were always been the best in the past. But this time the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL smartphones were one of the highly criticized smartphones this year. That is because of its ugly notch. The Pixel notch is biggest among all other notches. Apart from that there’s no serious updates. Just like the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL, this phone has a single AI camera with a couple of sensors. The low light and HDR mode on this camera has slightly improved. Everything same and performance is pretty good but the only problem is notch.
Razer Phone 2:
`The Razer Phone 2 is one of the gaming smartphones existing today. This phone has a better screen refreshing rate which is at 120Hz. It has got a liquid vapour cooling system. It has Snapdragon 845 CPU with Adreno 630 GPU. It has got the essential gaming features like game optimization option and RGB chroma lighting in the logo at the back. This phone has wireless charging support which another interesting feature of this phone. The only disadvantage of this smartphone is that it does not have an AMOLED display. The AMOLED display has become the mandatory thing for flagship nowadays but a gaming smartphone like this without AMOLED is a bit unsatisfying.
This is the last phone which was released in this year’s fall. The all new OnePlus 6T had lot of hype before the launch. This smartphone is pretty much same as its predecessors the OnePlus 6. It has got the same CPU and GPU and what’s new this year is, the notch. The notch on the OnePlus 6T is called the “teardrop notch” which is much more smaller than the notch on the OnePlus 6. There was a slight improvement on the camera of this smartphone too. The fingerprint sensor is on the display in the front and the headphone jack has been removed fro extra 400 mAh battery. Except these two new things all other things are same. There is no wireless charging support given for this device. And thankfully, the price is also same.
Which one of these flagship is best?
Based on comparison of various aspects of all these devices, we could say that everything is unique in someway. The sad part of this year is, all these companies have not given a new, clear, fully satisfying upgrade on their smartphones. Even though they’re new, it doesn’t feel like that when we use it. Spending extra money on latest devices should be meaningful and worthy. In that case the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is a bit satisfying with its upgrade on Battery, performance, design and the S pen. It has got all the essential features to be an perfect flagship smartphone, especially the headphone jack. We think it is worth spending $1000 on this device.
