Earlier today at London HMD held a simple announcement event where the company tipped out some information related to the new Nokia 7.1  and its specification. This has to be one of those devices which fall under the category of budget smartphones, but HMD calls it as a mid-range smartphone. Which is pretty unacceptable after looking at the spec sheet.

Quick Spec:

  • 5.84 inch IPS LCD 19:9 display with 432ppi
  • 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage
  • 12+5 megapixel dual rear camera and 8-megapixel secondary camera with an aperture of f/2.0
  • 3060 mAh Battery
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
Nokia 7.1 with Notch

The good news is device has a notch ( you can disable if you hate it) and a Headphone Jack. And also it has a Type-C port for charging the device. This smartphone comes in two colors Gloss midnight blue and Gloss Steel with copper accent.

Processor (SoC):

This all new Nokia 7.1 comes with Snapdragon 636 SoC with 1.8 GHz octa-core processor. Nokia could have considered placing a Snapdragon 660 processor at least. This move from HMD disappoints a lot of Nokia fans out there.

This month is one of the most exciting months for smartphone enthusiasts where new flagships and better mid-range smartphones are about to be released. Nokia could’ve used this opportunity wisely.

Having POCO F1 on this price range as competition Nokia is having some guts to price the new Nokia 7.1 for $350 (approx ₹25000). The new Nokia 7.1 Plus, the successor of the Nokia 7.1 is said to be released on October 11 with Snapdragon 710 on it.

The Nokia 7.1 Plus is said to have Snapdragon 710 processor which is the latest SoC introduced by Qualcomm. Most of the Nokia fans are eagerly waiting for that particular device.

Maybe this smartphone can be a kind of sidekick methodology to increase the curiosity about the upcoming successor. Let’s wait for Nokia 7.1 Plus
